Q: What devices are supported to install domRemote on?

A: It should function on every Android based mobile device or Tablet PC with Android software version 2.1 update 1 or newer. It has been tested on devices with Android 4.x and also on 10″ and 7″ tablets and should give a reasonable, usable UI on all screens with all resolution.

Q: How can I attach domRemote to a Domintell installation?

A: You have to purchase a DETH02 module and configure it properly to accept connections from your LAN network. If you configure your Broadband router, you can control your home even from 3G network. Please note, that only DETH02 is supported by domRemote, no other DETH module is working with domRemote.

Q: How much will domRemote cost?

A: The application can be downloaded from the Google Play store for free. However for full features you need to purchase the domRemote License Key application, which will unlock the limitations for you.

Q: How can I activate the full version after purchase?

A: After you purchased the domRemote License Key application, you just simply start domRemote as normally. After a few seconds it should post you a Toas message indicating that the License has been verified using Google license checking, and after restarting the application you have the full version!

Q: On how many devices can I install the application with one purchase?

A: After purchase from the Google Play Store the domRemote License Key, you can use it on any of your devices without limitation, however make sure, that you have configured the same account on all of your devices, which you have used to purchase the License Key!

Q: What limitations will domRemote in the free version have?

A: No AppWidget, IP Camera, Clocks, Sound module, FAN and Temperature profile support and only a limited numbers of devices and controlbars can be used (4 on each level, going to 2 levels).

Q: Does domRemote support password authentication with Domintell?

A: Yes, it does support password authentication with Domintell DETH02!

Q: domRemote does not support my language. What can I do?

A: On Support page you can download an excel file. If you translate it and send back to me, I will put your language into the next release. The software update will be available for free of charge on the Market.

Q: The query modules option constantly times out, however the modules are gathered. What should I do?

A: Update your Domintell Master firmware to the latest available firmware. You can download it from Domintell website, at support section or contact your local distributor!

    I’m concerned with the open port politics: no password means my installation can be accessed by anyone.
    My solution: I have activated the openVPN on my synology-NAS and closed the UDP port on my router … there is an openVPN-client for android, and it works like a charm!

      Indeed, this can be a security hole, however in the next release the Domintell Password protection will be supported, so you can protect your Domintell installation with a password.

    Hello,

    I tried you last version of domRemote on my HTC One, but there is no way to access the password menu in the free version,
    function is grayed…. Is that normal ??

      This is normal, Password authentication is only supported in the full version.

      Free codes are only available to Domintell distributors. If you would like to use the full app, you may purchase a license key for it on Google Play Store. If you already purchased the app with activation key, then contact me separately via e-mail. Thanks!
