We’re facing a problem query all modules from the domintell system. The app is connecting to the DETH02 but we cannot query the modules. Sometimes we a get a time-out message. The domintell master version is 1.19.18. We also tried 1.19.14.

    The android version is 2.3.3

    Please help.

    • Dear Wesley!

      It can be two problems.

First is an unfortunate bug in domRemote, where with newer DETH02 microcode a PONG response is sent on PING command which is not handled correctly by domRemote. In next release I will correct this bug, however in this case communication does not work with Master, so I think this is not the case.

The second issue can be related to a “bug” in Master software, where the APPINFO command listing is interrupted by Master sending T° setpoint check every minute. Try to get the module list 5-10 seconds after the Master’s clock has changed. Than you would have about 50 seconds to receive the whole module list from Master before the new T° setpoint check is initiated by Master. So it should not time out.

Please let me know if it could solve the problem, or not.

      Regards,

      domRemote Team

    Hi,
I’m a new domtemote user, I have been using it for around 4 months.
I like the software very much but having some problems.
    * all the switches and parameters are not updated unless I’m in the root of the software, this is very annoying.
    * the export sch is not working in ics.

Please let me know, if your next revision covers these bugs.

    Regards,
    Benny

    • Dear Benny,

first of all thank you for using domRemote as your home control software.

I checked the export schema bug you mentioned on my HTC Sensation running ICS 4.0.3 and it works, so please describe your problem in more detail (is there any error message, is your SD card writable, etc.), also would be good info if you could send me your phone type, and OS version.

The parameter and switch update issue is also an interesting question, as I and other user never experienced such a behaviour. First I would think, that your device is racing with an other device for connection to the DETH02, and therefore sometimes your phone is not connected to the DETH02, but as soon it gets connected again, it refreshes all the controller state.

So I suggest to investigate the problem, please send me the domRemote version you are using, the Domintell Master software version, and the DETH02 firmware version. Also would be good, if you could send me a piece of logcat from your android device if you are using the software, and also about the export schema thing. You can get a logcat with eg. aLogcat, which is free available on market.

To make thinks simple please contact me on e-mail at: domremote [at] gmail.com.

      Thank you!

      Best regards,

    Hi there,
I’m testing domremote and first reaction congratulation, clean and simple.
    Two questions:
    – using Google Nexus S with Android V4.1.2, it’s working well ,no problem. Question: could we have a log of the notifications (old one)?
    – using Acer A500 with Android 4.0., I’m in trouble with the new release 1.1.16 there is no way to access the settings nor edit….., This was not the case with the previous release.
Thank you in advance for your help.
    Didier.

    • Dear Didier!

I already received information over a similar problem in e-mail from a different user. I did not change anything regarding the menu, however it seems somehow it affects the some of the Android 4.0 version, as with my HTC with Android version 4.0.3 it’s working fine.

I will look into this, hope I find the problem.

      Regards,

      domRemote Team

    • I think I found the problem, however I’m waiting for confirmation from other user. If he confirms, that the problem is solved, I will update the software to version 1.1.17, which has the fix. Stay tuned!

      Regards,

      domRemote Team

    • Dear Didier!

Found the problem and fixed. Please update to version 1.1.17, it’s already on the Google Play (but it could take some time while it is updated to the newest version).

    Hi ,
You are quite … let us say fast…
It’s working fine with the new release… many thanks for your reaction.
I’ll keep this prompt reaction as a reference.
    Thanks again.
    Didier.

    • Hi!

      Thanks 🙂

Regarding notification log, how do you imagine it? Saving notification events to a log file on the SD card would be fine? Or how would you prefer?

May be I can put it in the next release.

      Regards,

A log as simple as possible, such as: an append to a regular txt file (could be on sd card), fixed file name, one line per notification, fields coma separated, no user interface for reading, but….if I may asking… with a link to a dropbox account or equivalent (to cloud it with no pain).
And …no notification if failure of notification history:-) 🙂
Have a nice day and thanks again.

Does the app supports the DETH03 module? I don’t succeed in making connection over the network. Although i can connect to the master over my LAN with the program on the laptop.
    Any help?

    • Dear Koen!

Unfortunatelly it does not support the DETH03, only the DETH02. The DETH03 uses a different protocol, and is ment to be used with the PC software. DETH02 is used with mobile devices (like Apple, Android devices).

      Regards,

I was wondering where I have to enter the pasword for access to the DETH02. Now I still get te message “Wachtwoordauthenticatie mislukt”.
Before I buy this, pasword access is needed.

    Greets,
    LM Dick

    • Unfortunatelly the password support is not available in domRemote. This algorythm is protected by Trump S.A. and I did not receive a permission to use this algorythm. As soon as I get access to this code, I will implement it in domRemote.

    Hi there,
    techn. question:
I have only one DETH02 and using Domremote with 2 Android devices.
the first continuously, the second occasionally.
After using the second one and exiting the application.. and the service, the reconnection of the first one seems not to be automatic.
How to set up the network services parameters to be sure it is (re)connected, with no manual triggering on the first one?
    Great app. thanks.
    Didier.

    • Hi Didier!

The network service should recover if the connection is lost (disconnect detection). You can choose between several values: 2, 3 and 5 minutes. After the connection is lost (domRemote does not receive the timestamp & temp update from DETH02 sent every minute) after the given minute value it should reconnect again. If you use domRemote from different devices, I suggest a greater value. If you do not manage to get reconnection working, I will have a look on the code.

But if you are using from one device all the time (day/night), and this device is always turned on, and is always in your home (or in reach of your Wifi), then you can give the proxy service feature a try!

      Regards,

      domRemote Team

  1. Hi there,
    thanks for your reaction…..
The proxy service is the elegant solution for it…right.
But I have a problem with it:
    1. Using the proxy service,… the control of the Domintell devices is working well on any syst., the proxy server or the others
    2. but the echo status (light on for expl) is not well synchronize. Sometime the status is correct on the proxy server sometime on the other syst.
for example you could change a switch on the proxy server syst and it does the work but the status is well sync on the other syst. and not on the proxy one….(the reverse is also true but never sync…)

    Thanks again.
    Didier.

    • Hi Didier!

Sorry to answer so late, but I wanted to test the issues you mentioned.

First I tested the disconnect detection, and it was working for me like expected. However if two or more devices are racing for the same connection, this might cause issues. Try to set the service idle time to NONE on devices, where you only use domRemote occasionally (eg. handys). As if it is set to anything else, exitting domRemote does not terminate the network service, which might reconnect, and so kicks out other devices.

Second I tested the Proxy feature, and it was also working like expected. I switched one of my lights on, and it was turning on, and both connected devices received the status update. You can check the connected device list in the proxy controlling dialog, which is accessible from the notification area of you device. With proxy, make sure, you connect then from every domRemote to the proxy IP address & port, and not to the DETH02 directly! The proxy plays a “firewall or proxy server” between the DETH02 and the connected devices. So if you set up everything properly, then you should see your phones in the connected devices list on the proxy server controller dialog (you can open it from notification area).

      Hope that helps.

      Regards,

      Zoltan

  2. Hi Zoltan,
    Thank you for your reply.
Same result so far: when using the walking device (Nexus10 android 4.2.2) connecting through proxy server (Acer500 android 4.0.3) … triggering for example a switch light on/off on the the Nexus .. the real light goes on/off….ok .the status on the Acer (the server) goes on/off.. ok ,….but not the status light on the Nexus sending the command..!
But wait I’ll try to clean up and restart all the settings from scratch…
I’ll keep you informed. (but I have to go…)
    Thanks.
    Didier.

  3. Hi Zoltan,
    after double check…
yes the walking device is listed in the proxy. notification ares
yes the service idle time is set to none for the walking device
and to infinite to the proxy server
    and …
Same effect as described.no status update (but yes on the proxy)
    Thanks.
    Didier.

    • Hi Didier!

Is your tablet also listed in the proxy list? Both of your devices should be listed there.

If yes, I could prepare you a version with more logging, then we could see what happens from the proxy (how the messages are sent back).

      Regards,

      Zoltan

  4. Zoltan,
On the domRemote proxy list there is only the client(s) IP address not the server one.
    Didier.

    • Hi Didier!

You should see both clients in the list. This means on the tablet you have to reconfigure the LAN/Internet profile to connect also to the proxy server, and not directly to the DETH02. To the DETH02 only the Proxy Service should have access, all other clients (domRemote main application) should connect to your proxy service ip/port (eg. 10.1.1.102:5555). So check your LAN profile settings on your tablet, and use the same values there what you are using on your phone.

      Regards,

      Zoltan

  5. Zoltan,

    It works.. got it.
The proxy service is a standalone service that is used by any devices…even the one that runs it…..okay.
May I humbly pinpoint the sentence in the proxy service settings:
    “Proxy IP address:x.x.x.x
Use this IP to connect to proxy service from…. other devices”
this was (on my side) misleading…
    sorry
(little question: do I have to enter an address “to connect the device from the internet” even if I know the old tablet will use only the local LAN?)

    Thanks again
    Didier.

    • Hi Didier!

Glad it’s working… May be I should change the description of this option in the settings…

If you are using the tablet from the local LAN, then the Internet profile should be ignored all the time.

However for your walking devices you should set up the internet profile, and on your firewall you should forward the incoming traffic to the proxy service, and not the DETH02 ! So you have to change your firewall settings also, if you are using the app from “outside”.

      Regards,

      Zoltan

Hello, I am using domintell version 1.21 and I cant see the correct temperature data from both dedicated temperature sensor and touch screen temperature sensor, they both give 10 C always. Changing system variable temperature mode changes the mode but it doesn’t show what mode is currently active. Also what is distributor settings ?

    • Hello!

The new Domintell software version 1.21 is not yet fully supported. In this software version Domintell significantly changed the temperature handling. Support will come in the next release. But we do not have a release date yet.

      Regards,

      domRemote Team

      • Do you have more info about what’s new in the 1.21 release?

      • Dear Koen,

It was just a maintenance release, the password encoding was added, and some small bug was fixed.

    • Arif
    • December 1st, 2013

Thank you for the reply. Also can you explain what distributor settings are ? As an additional comment the shutter control up and down icons should be just up-down arrows, atm there are two normal switches for up-down function.

    • Distributor settings are for Distributors. They have some options there similar to “Look & Feel” options.

Shutter control icons: left ->down, right -> up. The direction is shown when the shutter moves. If I would only display a down / up arrow, you would have no idea, if the shutter is moving or not, and if moving in which direction.

        • Arif
        • December 2nd, 2013

You can make the arrows green while moving and gray out(or red) while not moving. Also in widget settings when you click a switch to turn something on, there appears a sub-menu even though the only option is to just click again, do you need that pop-up menu just to swtich something? Why not just switch it from the main widget page. I am a domintell installer from Turkey, what would I need to access distributor settings? Thank you for your fast replies.

      • Sent you an e-mail with password and answers.

        Regards,

  6. I’m with Arif about the pop-up sub menu, to switch on a light from the widget. For temperature of dim of 0-10V module its ok. To dim a light, it would be nice to long press the icon in the widget, but unfortunately that’s not suported in Android. I like the widget a lot, use it all the time!

    • Dear Koen,

thanks for the feedback. I will investigate if the switches could be solved without a popup.

    Hi,

I just baught your application and tested it… it does not work with my DETH02. Works like a charm with my iOS application, but no way with yours… I have always the message “Password authentification failed!”. Set the same password as DETH02 and iOS application but cannot connect…

When i try “Query Module” I have the message “Failed to send command to the Device! and password failed…

Am I missing something ??? iOS app was less painful 😉

    • Hi!

Did you try to check the “Use password authentication” checkbox above the Password field in the settings?

Well, the Apple way is always smoother…

      Regards,

      • Oh yes: check, if your time on your Android device and your DETH02 does not differ with more than a couple of seconds.

        • December 9th, 2013

Yes I checked “Use password authentication” checkbox and the password field in the settings.

Time between DETH02 and my HTC one is -0.849 ms

    Hi,

Since several days, when I’m connected with Domremote to DETH02, thouhg I can still switch on/off light for example, I can’t see the status of the light itself (On or off). Or for heationg control for example, it just appeared “temperature is 10°C” while obviously it’s more than that and also I should be able to change mode (from automatic to comfort) but this option has disappeared (I can send you a picture of what is on my screen if you prefer).

    Many thanks for your help

    • Dear Hugues,

sorry for the late response. Try to restart your phone. The temperature control – if it has no mode received – shows only the temperature, and not the mode. This is OK so, but this is related to your problem, that the states of the controllers are not refreshed.

        Hi,
Indeed, I don’t know for which reason (I changed nothing) but now, the status of each controlllers is not updated (refresh) anymore making that it’s difficult to be sure that the action has been performed. What should I do so that it’s automatically refreshed as in the past ? The same for temparature control (I changed nothing), where should I do something so that I can see (and change) the mode ?

I’m trying to use DomRemote with a tablet running Android 4.2.2, there is no physically Menu button.
How should I see the menu to configurate the App ?
    Thanks

    • Dear Fred,

try to LONG-PRESS any of the other buttons, eg, the search or home button. My wife had a HTC Desire V where there was also no menu button, but LONG-PRESSING the search (I think) triggered the menu.

    Hello,
I have the 1.1.23 ver. of the program. And 1.21 ver. of domintell configuration. The temp mode shows unknown, the read and set temperatures are allways 10 C. And when I switch it to 24 C and heating it sends the data since I check from the touchscreen. However it still doesnt read and update the current temperature and the mode is still unknown. Also the touchscreen shows that the system is in manual temperature mode. I tried cleaning all data and even cleaning cache and uninstalling the application but nothing works so far. Can you help?

  8. Hello,

I have the same issue like Arif with my test version. The DTSC04 touchscreen is listed bit the temp item is showing HRM=0x0D-HTM=0x08. the temp visialisation is stuck on 10°. I want to purchase this app and have a few questions. Is it possible to communicate with the outdoor intercom DVIP01 (in realtime when someone is at my door)?

I need to check since there have been changes in the new master version regarding temperature handling.

  10. Dear,

My temp sensor of the DPBTLCD-02 module is acting strange. Currently it is measuring 139°C (-11.9 displayed). It’s quite hot for the moment (30 °C inside)
Reloading the program + initializing the touchscreens doesn’t do the trick.

    Help anyone?

    Thanks!

Do you read wrong values on the DPBTLCD-02 screen also, or just in domRemote? Did it work properly before?

hello, i am testing the free DomRemote app. it looks great. So i have a question; I have multiple installations which use the Domintell system; in My home, My company and my vacation place. I do not see an option to select between different installations. Is this possible with the full version?

    • Hi!

Currently there is no option to have multiple profiles at the same time.

What you can do is to build your configuration for each place, and export it to Dropbox or SD card, and if you arrive to your company or vacation place, simply import that profile and settings. This should work.

I will think about profiles, however this is not as simple as it sounds.

    Hello,

i just downloaded the application and i manage to connect to the installation. However, when i run the download module query, it always times out. i tried starting it at different time, but after +- 50 – 50 seconds, i receive a time out.

is there a possibilty to transfer the file from the master pc to the domremote ?
i would like to test the connectivity and see that i can have the modules charged before purchasing the full licence.

    Thanks

    • Hi!

It is difficult to help or suggest without seeing what actually happens. Is the connection properly configured?

There is no possibility to transfer from Domintell program to domRemote any configuration, however the Query Module thing should work. Please check the connection again, and if it still not working, please send me an email.

    • Hi

there is no device limit, as long as you have the same google account set up on every device, you can use the application.
